Carlos Santana and his band brought their Latino American show to the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, MA for an unforgettable night of music by one of the world’s most legendary musicians of our time. Santana has been performing since the 1960’s and still gives his all in every performance. He has decades long staying power and his songs are timeless.

Carlos Santana is one of the most important and prolific guitarists in the history of rock music. Based in San Francisco, Santana pioneered an innovative Afro-Latin-blues-rock fusion sound in the 1960s that had never been heard before and has spent his life since then taking it around the world. He’s won ten Grammy Awards, three Latin Grammys and is considered to be one of the best and most identifiable guitar players of all time.

Santana always rocks the audience with his hits including “Evil Ways,” “Black Magic Woman,” and “Smooth,” and this evening was no different. He and his band performed all of those and more.

Santana is backed by a world class set of artists including Cindy Blackman Santana. She is not only a kick ass drummer and percussionist she is also Carlos Santana’s wife. Cindy did a long and very intricate drum solo that was well received by the audience.

This was a fantastic concert and well done by all of the band. It was not my first Santana show and not my last. I would absolutely like to see them again. If you get the chance don’t miss Santana and his band, they put on a great concert and over the years and get better with time.

Joining Cindy Blackwell Santana in the band was Andy Vargas on vocals, Ray Greene on vocals, Paoli Mejías on percussion, Karl Parazzo on percussion, Dave K Matthews on keyboard, Benny Rietveld on bass and Tommy Anthony on guitar and vocals
