Rod Stewart
Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, CT
March 13, 2026

Rod Stewart once again defied the age barrier at 81 performing at the Mohegan Sun Arena to a full house of completely engaged fans. Mohegan Sun is a great place to attend a concert and this night it was filled with thousands enthusiastic patrons ready for a night of fun music. Joined by his band he entertained with seemingly endless energy for an almost two hour set of hits and well-known songs spanning his decades long career.

The night began as the red curtain rose Stewart and some of the women in the band stood front center in black suit jacket dresses with white instruments as the first notes of “Addicted To Love” rang out to cheers from the audience. Stewart with his well known gravelly voice crooned out the song and was greeted at the end to rousing applause and cheering.

Stewart and the band then launched into the next song in a long set of many of his most popular songs and others that have meaning in his life, plus a two song encore to top off the evening. At Mohegan the thousands of attendees all have their favorites and judging by the reception to the music played he covered a varied range that satisfied the audience well.

Some singers have one hit wonders, others are around on the air or touring for a few years or a couple of decades. Then there are those musical stars that have amazing staying power and just that IT factor that keeps them current and relevant for their entire lifetimes. Stewart has found himself in the last category. He packs a house just as easily today as he did in the 1960’s.
Rod Stewart was wise enough to reinvent himself years ago with a young band complete with accomplished dancers who sing to accompany him and fantastic musicians that make up a polished Vegas style show he takes on the road on a seemingly endless tour schedule all over the world. The show is polished and professional while retaining a refreshing sense of humor.

During one of the opening songs there was a small flub of when Stewart missed his opening line of the song after interacting with someone in the front row about one of Stewart’s favorite passions, football, the European football not American. He instantly owned up to the hiccup, laughed it off, and then began the song from the start, all the while smiling, laughing along with the audience as he pulled off the song flawlessly from the beginning.

This man and his whole band really give a consistently fun, energetic and professional show from beginning to end. It’s easy to see why people come back year in and out to see them perform. The longtime fans bring their kids and friends and start a whole new generation of live performance fans. I heard some say it was their first show live while others said it was their fifth or more times attending a Rod Stewart concert. I myself saw him for the first but not last time in 1977. He made an impression on me then that has stayed through the years and brought me back many times to enjoy his music live.

Stewart’s setlist is a mix of his songs done over the decades and those of other artists that he has a special fondness for and enjoys showcasing both the powerful songs of human rights and others of artists he grew to admire during his career.
Do not let his age fool you. I know you have heard his songs for many decades but if you have never had a chance to take in a live Rod Stewart show do make the time and treat yourself to a most enjoyable night of fun, laughter and fantastic music done in a most professional style that is unforgettable.
