Deep Purple
Long Goodbye Tour

Deep Purple is on its “Long Goodbye” tour. After 50 years of heading out entertaining audiences the band proclaims this is their goodbye tour. This tour will last as long as they all agree they have the desire and their health holds out. There have been some health issues for some of the members in the last few years but they are not ready to throw it in yet. They just want their fans to decide they still have a great show to put out there for the audience.
Ian Gillan is the front man for the band and his voice is still recognizable after all these years. He is joined by Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse and Don Airey to complete the band.
Deep Purple known for long solos stretching out a song giving each band member a chance to have a true solo and demonstrate their skills, they didn’t disappoint this during this concert.
The band began the set with “Highway Star” and then continued on to “Pictures of Home.” The audience was enjoying the transformation back in time with the quintet performing each classic song. They made sure to include the must be played “Space Truckin'” and “Smoke on the Water” as expected by the audience.
Though the band has been performing for half a century they still play with energy and enthusiasm. The audience had a great time and I am not sure how long this goodbye will be, but I hope it takes a while.
