Sunday October 5, 2025 marked the culmination of a week’s worth of Newport Rhode Island, hospitality and automobile history with the Audrain Concours d’Elegance. It was held at the Breakers Mansion, and there is no finer backdrop for the amazing collection of rare and elegant automobiles gathered for the sixth year of celebrating automobiles and motorcycles than this historic mansion and its beautiful grounds. There were breathtaking views in all directions. A perfect place to host some of the most rare and historic autos still on the road today.
Owners brought their entries from all over the United States. Many of the classic vehicles are parts of numerous treasures of a few who own multiple rare autos in their collections while others are the one prize auto that owners cherish. Some are kept under covers most of the year while there are also owners who believe their rare machines should be driven and admired by all and they drive them, maybe not daily but enough that others get the treat of seeing them pass by on the road on any given day.

Part of the enjoyment of the Concours d’Eleglance Newport is talking with owners about their vehicles and how they acquired them. You can see the pride on their faces as they tell the history of their autos and how they were able to obtain them. Then how they were able to bring them to and maintain them at Concours standards. It is evident in some that these cars are way more than metal and an engine, they are part of the fabric of their own lives and that of family members.

In the Thirty under Thirty class there were many interesting owners. They are young owners who are passionate about the entry they brought to the event and gladly tell of how they restored and brought life back into their automobiles and how much they are enjoying showing their rides alongside some of the crown jewels of perfectly maintained and historically significant autos at the show. It’s wonderful to see a whole new generation of individuals so passionate about preserving the history of these vehicles.
This being the sixth year of the Newport Concours it’s evident that it will be a yearly week long classic vehicle extravaganza for many years to come. It’s growing in popularity and is now an event looked forward to all year by many not only to submit entries but also to participate in the numerous events held around town all week. There were gatherings and conferences at multiple venues offered each day. In the evenings there were events and parties at various destinations to give attendees a great overview of the many historic locations throughout Newport.
It is a week that has become a staple in the fall in Newport and has evolved into a fantastic showcase for the rich automotive and racing history that Newport offers and many are not always aware of. The Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance has grown and stretched its footprint during the week leading up to the Concours d’Elegance and we look forward to next year and what surprises and rare vehicles they roll out for the attendees to admire.
