Jim Messina & The Road Runners: Here, There & Everywhere tour
Jim Messina and The Road Runners gave the audience at The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Center a great night of excellent music and good fun on March 3, 2025
The band gave the audience a wonderful night of music and each of the band members were at the top of their form. They clearly enjoy performing here and have a chance to tell a bit of back story on some of the songs. The crowd sang along with the songs without prompting by Messina. But, at times he asked them to fill in a chorus and they gladly did.
Messina and the Road Runners consisting of Steve Nieves on Saxaphone, Woodwinds and Percussion, Ben King on Bass, Jim Frazier on Keyboard and Jack Bruno on Drums. They are a top notch act and they clearly enjoy performing together. I have seen Jim Messina in concert a few times and I must say the ensemble he has now is the best I have seen and heard.
They performed songs from their newly released album Jim Messina and The Road Runners “Here There and Everywhere.” It’s a mix of songs different times during Messina’s career. The album is being offered in vinyl for the purists, on CD and also for a limit edition run a thumbdrive which contains not only the songs but also the lyrics, and photos of the band in various concerts for the enjoyment of the fan. The photos are downloadable and can be saved on phones, desktops, tablets or however the listener prefers to hear the music. It makes it so easy with this boxed thumbdrive set to just plug in and enjoy anywhere.
Messina stated he really enjoyed performing at The Kate, which is a very intimate venue and only seats a few hundred patrons. It is totally obvious the audience loves their shows and a standing ovation was given at the conclusion of the concert.
Jim Messina has such a rich history in the music industry and his contributions are so immense to music playing with Buffalo Springfield, Poco, Loggins and Messina. Plus his production expertise over the years makes him truly a legend in the industry,
If you have never seen him perform or even if it’s been a while since you last saw him do take in a concert if you can. His voice is a strong as ever and his playing of guitar and mandolin are just amazing. Do see him while he is still touring, it’s well worth the time and you will come away from any Jim Messina and The Road Runners concert feeling great.
